Floral Moments

Hi everyone!  I was very busy these past few days getting ready for a presentation at work.  I have to dress up a li'l formal tomorrow so I had to take off my usual colorful nails.  I did a french tip in pink to go with my dress but it wasn't like me... I added more and stick pretty flowers on it :)

Happy Sunday!

Spring Waltz

Hey y'all! Had a great week so far? Mine's not that great.. because my nails are shorter now :( I had an accident at work and 2 nails cracked at the tips.  I had to cut all shorter.  My friends said that cutting them a li'l shorter will make me type faster LOL.  There is no truth in that.  I type just the same.  :)

I had white french tips yesterday that I had to change becauseeeeeee... I had an idea for a nail do!!! :)) Niki did a wonderful job on her "spring in the air".  I love it and I wanna do it too... but I had to change it a bit (or maybe a lot).  I can't do the tiny fine lines for the grassy field and the bug :(  My hands are shaky and I don't use nail art pens.  I put in li'l flowers on a grassy bed under the same blue sky with rolling clouds.  Sounds poetic and good than it actually looks like. LOL  Hmmm... I don't know if you'll like it.  It's not perfect I know.  I made a lot of mistakes and was too lazy to start over?! I will appreciate your comments.

Thanks Niki for the inspiration :)  Here's what I came up with.

For the base, I used a sky blue polish from Elianto.  Grassy bed were 2 shades of green.  The clouds were brushed lightly using a satin white polish.  I also used pinks (light pink, reg pink, something like a coral) and yellow for the flowers using toothpicks.  Pretty messy after work scene below and yes, I work in front of my computer :P

Now, these were my nails after cutting it shorter and with white tips.  It actually looks ok to me... but I don't think I'll live without that much color.  LOL

Btw, I now have 11 followers.  Yeeehhhhaaawwwww!!!! Thanks ladies. :)

*** why "spring waltz"? ... that's the title of the korean drama that i am watching on my computer, with english subs of course! they have grassy fields on most scenes with yellow flowers. it looks romantic! hahaha

Tired and sleepy,

Papemelroti: Necklace Giveaway

***NOT RELATED TO NAILS***

Papemelroti -- stands for - Patsy, Peggy, Meldy, Robert, and Tina. Cute name isn't it?  They are children of a couple who started the specialty shop which carries a wide variety of gifts and decorative accessories. Very popular here in the Philippines and I grew up buying their kraft notepads which I really love. As a child, I looked forward on receiving Papelmelroti items as gifts from friends :) Now they carry a lot of items like accesories (love their bead products), vintage furnitures, wall decors and scrapbooking things!

An excerpt from the website --
Patsy, Peggy, Meldy, Robert and Tina continue to design products for papemelroti. They aim to design products that help encourage, uplift, and inspire as well as bring warmth and beauty to homes. Their products reflect values and themes which are important to their family - a commitment to and love of God, family, home, country and the environment. Through years of designing, manufacturing and retailing, papemelroti has become a popular name in the Philippines’ gift and decorative accessories industry.

I can still remember their famous tag line -- "Hands to Work. Hearts to God."

Whew!  That's a lot of introduction for me.  But you see, I really like their products.  Click their button on my side bar to go to their website.  Now for Mother's Day, they are giving away this lovely necklace.  Meldy designed it!  For info, click here.

All the pictures that I used are from Papemelroti's official website. This will end on May 13.

Blinding Neons

It's Monday already.  Darn! How can we ever extend weekend?! *sigh* I just don't feel like going to work LOL  Anyway, I played with my neon polishes and came up with this.  Tada!

I used Klik nail polish which is available locally (Phil).  Colors are neon green, neon blue, neon pink and neon yellow.  Above is a picture with flash.  Below is the one without a flash (sorry, my camera sucks today ugh!) Then far below is a picture outside or with natural day light.  Neon pink and blue were good with 2 coats but not the neon green and yellow.  I can still see my nail line after 3 or 4 coats.

I got bored with just plain neon so I added some dots :))  I wanted irregularly shaped dots so it'll look like virus or bacteria LOL weird me!

Wish List: Up, up and away!!! (China Glaze)

I am also a fan of the movie "Up" and I reeeaaallllyyy wanted this one.  Check out China Glaze's Up and Away Collection which is on my wish list.  I'll definitely be veerrrryyyy happy to get all of them.  Below is an attempt to nail art the balloons and the house from the movie.  I don't like it that much... but I'll do better if I have these right colors (wishful thinking) LOL

Wish List: Some Poolside Party Nails (China Glaze)

My friend is so cool to offer sending me new polishes.. yay! I can't contain my excitement *winks*. I plan to email her with list of brands and colors and I spent a lot of time online trying to check swatches of pretty bloggers, other websites, etc.  Some great brands are not available locally *wails*.  I noticed this from China Glaze collection and wanted one.  It's summer here in where I live and this is just perfect!

Since I have not received mine yet, you can check out these cool swatches from Dainty Darling Digits.

The Sun, the Sea and of course - the Nail!

Just got back from an exhausting but enjoyable trip.  We went to a 6 hour cruise yesterday, tried fishing (with no luck LOL) and ate and ate some more :)

I love this picture... reminding of an escape from the city! :)
At some point, we all thought it's gonna rain with clouds forming and getting dark-- but it didn't yey! :P  It was cloudy but we all felt sticky.  It was humid.  The sun was soooo bright when we started sailing but then these clouds hid the sun.

Here's my nail-do yesterday -- I shopped for new polishes as I have stated on my previous post http://hueandme-jan.blogspot.com/2010/04/my-shopping-bag.html and tried each and every single one of them.   Looks cute to me (tee-hee!)

I thought this was cool.  A cold beer, the sea, the sun, nice escape from the city and colorful nails :)

My Shopping Bag: Thursday Marquee Madness with Carol

I bought these on Thursday... :)  Most are "affordable" (which translate to cheap :)) and only the 2 Elianto's are quite pricey for me.

Excited to use them! :)

Edited this post to add that when my friend who was with me at the mall took off to find some Ipanema flipflops, I grabbed these items.  I finished paying for all these in less than 30 minutes.  She was so surprised that I already bought a lot in a very short time.  Talk about an impulsive buyer... LOL She has not even tried her flipflops yet.  Haaaayyyyy... This shopping caused me major pink attack when all I went for is more green and blue.  Well, there's no "too much" for me anyway.  I will use them real soon! :)  A note for me though is to check my boxes first and list (or try to) the colors that I need.

Summerrific! Refreshing Watermelons and Mango Shake

Remembering that I will be enjoying summer to the fullest this weekend, let me share to you 2 nail do's from last week :)

First one is an attempt to recreate the watermelon design that I have seen so many times... Again, I'm new to this.  Forgive me if it's not so pretty... I like them though as I worked hard to get it done :)

The second one's my own design.  I have not worn yellow before but this one's pretty subtle.  I created a white flower with green leaves.  I used no name polishes by the way so I can't tell you the exact color.  I'll be posting my "babies" (nail polish bottles) soon so you'll see that I'm a "no brand" gal.  :) Been neglecting my cuticles recently so don't mind them :(

I promise to give you clear pictures in the future, those were taken using my phone.. sorry...

Packing my clothes while uploading pics and typing... Comments, suggestions are welcome... Give me love...

XO,
Jan

Edit, edit.. Urgh!

No time to edit the layout as I am preparing for a weekend get away!!! yey!!! :))

I have not even posted anything worthy yet (sigh)... Not even edited my profile.. too bad.  I promise to commit to this so hopefully -- I'll be able to write (or post I should say) more during the weekend.

Keep the love comin'
I need them...

First Ever (yay!)

Hello all and welcome ;)

Feeling quite excited while typing this...Had been contemplating whether to do this for quite some time now-- to blog or not to blog?! LOL

This will sound a lot different from my past blogs but here goes...  I am recently addicted to nail art and nail polishes.  My sister and my friends were so surprised that I finally take on being "kikay" and started doing my own nails.  Yup, a lot of people would say that this is just one of my "ever changing mood or trip" but they sure don't know how hard I'm trying and the time that I invested learning... LOL

But still.. I'm happy to share my nails and my craziness to the world LOL  Pretty psyched and positive that this new hobby or addiction of mine will be fruitful.  I am hoping to meet new friends too and learn from them.

As you might have guessed, I'm no professional -- I'm a dear newbie.  :)

Jan
